Your first contact should be your small group leader, or a friend who is a follower of Christ. Often, just in talking with a close friend, we gain God’s heart and direction for our lives. You may also choose to join one of our recovery or support groups, or attend a class being taught here at the church.

Another option is to meet with someone through our "Gospel of Wholeness" Peer Counseling Ministry. "Gospel of Wholeness"
Peer Counseling Ministry

We have trained people with a heart to serve people in need and come alongside what God is doing in their lives. Our Peer Counselors counsel biblically and also provide extended prayer ministry as they seek to follow the Holy Spirit, the real Counselor, when meeting with you. They do not engage in practices requiring professional education or state licensing, such as the practice of psychology, professional counseling, or psychotherapy.

Please feel confident that if you decide to fill out an application (available at our office) to meet with a Peer Counselor we do not take your request lightly. We promise to do our best to match you with someone who will come alongside you as you pursue healing, clarity, and growth in Christ. Your Peer Counselor will voluntarily commit their time to meet with you on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, for 3-4 months.

Because we have a high volume of requests for biblical counseling/ spiritual mentoring, with a limited number of Peer Counselors, to qualify for peer counseling you must be a regular LAVC attender and also be part of a small group.
